Welcome to Artistic Photography Talk.  With the start of the new year, I am starting a new blog.

Fenwick Artistic Photography is a collaboration between my father and myself.  Between us we are interested in most types of photography that you might consider artistic.  Everything from art nudes to still-life to wildlife and most things in between.  As time goes on, I’ll be sharing my thoughts and musings on art photography and other types of photography as well.  I expect to share other blogs I find interesting, fun and interesting web sites, thoughts on hardware and software used for photography, and any other related subject that seems to fit.

Before I get into the photography, I want to take a minute to say goodbye to a lady who I have known all my life.  She was born in 1917 and passed away last week at 93.  She was truly one of the nicest, godliest people I have ever known.  Betty, I’ll miss you.

For those of you who are interested in the nuts and bolts of a photography business, you might want to take a look at Project52 .  It’s into week 2, but you can join in anywhere along the line.  There are weekly assignments, weekly webcasts that discuss the assignment, a place to post the results of your attempts at the assignment and what seems to be a lot of good people involved.  Don has done a great thing setting this up.  Give it a look along with his photography blog at http://www.lighting-essentials.com/ .

So, what kind of photography is “artistic”.  To me it’s about making images people would like to see hanging on their walls.  Images that may make you think, or may show the beauty of some part of the world around us.  So, you’ll find I have pictures of people, places and things hanging on my walls, mostly images I have made.  This is one of my recent favorites:

If you would like to model for this type of image or if you’d like to have one taken for yourself or someone special, drop me an email and we’ll see what we can work out.  I can do private images as ones I have a release to use.  It all depends on what you’d like.

Well, that’s it for today and the first post in the new blog.  Have a great day.
